Rui (Flora) Shi
My name is Rui Shi (石蕊). I am a Ph.D. candidate in accounting at NUS Business School, National University of Singapore. I was a visiting scholar in 2024 at Haas Business School, UC Berkeley. I am excited to be on the 2025-2026 accounting job market!
I am interested in applying big data and archival methods to study theory-driven economic questions. My research interests include regulation, disclosure, and auditing, with a particular focus on the intersection with behavioral economics. My current projects address how non-financial factors shape auditor mobility, firm disclosure, and capital market outcomes. I also investigate how regulatory forces interact with firms, institutions, and markets to generate real economic effects.
Prior to my Ph.D., I obtained Master of Finance from Tsinghua University and Bachelor in Economics from University of International Business and Economics.
